Dr. Rachel Darakhshan is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She earned her Doctorate degree from the University of Tulsa in 2020, completed her doctoral internship with the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, and postdoctoral fellowship with Boston Children’s Hospital. Dr. Darakhshan works with individuals across the lifespan providing psychological therapy and diagnostic assessment services.
Dr. Darakhshan's research on clinical assessment of personality, attention-deficit/ hyperactivity disorder, and autism have been presented at multiple national conferences and published in scientific journals. Dr. Darakhshan is experienced in assessment of a wide array of presentations including developmental delay, autism, ADHD, intellectual ability, personality, and cognitive concerns.
When working with therapy clients, Dr. Darakhshan utilizes empirically supported treatments, backed by scientific research. Her diverse training and clinical experiences allow her to tailor each treatment to specific client characteristics and needs. Dr. Darakhshan enjoys working with children, adolescents, parents, and adults, utilizing primarily behavioral, cognitive behavioral, and “third wave” techniques (e.g., acceptance and commitment therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy skills). Dr. Darakhshan has a passion for helping individuals and families identify their strengths and utilize them more efficiently to achieve their goals.
Outside of work, Dr. Darakhshan enjoys reading, spending time with family, and traveling. She hopes to foster an open and collaborative environment with her patients to promote lasting, meaningful, and positive changes in their lives.
