Samar Shahab MA-Ed, LPC-Associate, NCC, is a Graduate in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Malone University- 2022. Samar is a Member of the Honor's Society Chi Sigma Iota, American Counseling Association, and Houston Counseling Association.
As a therapist, Samar believes that a strong therapeutic relationship is critical to the success of counseling. Therefore, she grounds her approach in respect for all human beings, and she strives to provide unconditional positive regard, empathy, and authenticity to her clients. She understands that each person is unique and has their own set of challenges and struggles, and she works to create a safe and non-judgmental space where her clients can feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feelings. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, or any other issue, Samar believes that the solutions lie within you. Her role as a therapist is to help you navigate life's obstacles and challenges by collaboratively assisting you to cope more effectively with stressors by employing your own strengths. To achieve this, she draws from her training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as her ongoing education in the Gottman method of couples counseling, and Grief counseling training. However, she also recognizes that each client has their unique needs, and she curates her approach accordingly. Samar has previously worked with clients of all ages, including children, adolescents, and adults. Her goal is to co-journey with you to discuss your worries, create goals, and identify your strengths to help you move toward healing and growth. She is committed to providing a compassionate and supportive space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood.
