Serving Clients In Spring
Hello, my name is Lynnie Drawson. I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Central Washington University. I received my Master’s in Child, Couple and Family Therapy from Antioch University, Seattle.
I have worked with children of all ages. My area of focus is with children five and under. I also have extensive experience working with children that have experienced disruptions in their attachment such as the loss of a parent, time in foster care, parents in the military and adoption. I enjoy working with women and parents on their journey through pregnancy, infertility, grief and loss, adoptions, traumatic births, and NICU stays. I have worked with parents struggling with adjusting to becoming parents as well as struggles of Postpartum Depression and/or Postpartum Anxiety experienced by parents. I have experience providing counseling to couples who want to learn to co-parent more effectively (both while living together and separated). I also have 8 years of experience of providing family counseling to children with developmental delays and supporting their entire family on that journey. As a Child and Family Therapist, I provide counseling in a systemic manner. That is, I believe behaviors are influenced by intrapersonal, social, cultural, and other environmental variables. My interventions are typically cognitive-behavioral and relationship based which means I look at the interactions between development, thoughts, feelings, and behavior and how those impact important relationships. Treatment of small children will include working with the child in the context of their relationships with family and other caregivers. I was born and raised in Washington state and recently moved to Texas to be closer to my husband’s family, he was born in Galveston. I am looking forward to raising my 3 children and our dog in the Houston area! We love camping and exploring. |
