Dr. Ydalith Rivera-Pérez

Dr. Ydalith Rivera-Pérez has been in the mental health field for over 20 years. Initially as a Physician Assistant in Psychiatry (PA-C) and more recently as a Licensed Psychologist. She received her MA in Psychology from Rice University, MS in Physician Assistant Studies from Baylor College of Medicine, and a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Fielding Graduate University. She completed her internship at the Alexandria Veteran Affairs Health Care System in Pineville Louisiana.
Her counseling style is collaborative, goal-directed, and empowering. She believes in a holistic view of health that includes physical, mental, and spiritual health. She strives to empower her clients towards wellness, growth, and healing.
Dr. Perez enjoys working with adults and adolescents with trauma, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders including skin-picking disorder, adjustment to health-related conditions, and severe mental illness such as bipolar disorder. She is also passionate about mentoring and training her fellow clinicians. Dr. Perez provides psychological evaluation and testing for diagnostic clarity as well as candidates of bariatric surgery. She has formal training on Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD, Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to facilitate behavioral change.
In her free time, Dr. Rivera-Perez enjoys traveling, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.
