Didi Martinez is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) under the supervision of Dr. Ada Cheung, LCSW-S. She is passionate about working with tweens, adolescents, and adults while offering a dynamic, energetic, non-judgmental, and client centered approach to therapy. She primarily focuses on working with individuals and families coping with trauma, attachment issues, depression, anxiety, gender and sexual identity issues, and grief. She identifies a therapeutic approach based on each client’s needs and goals. Her main therapy modalities are CBT, attachment theory, EMDR, family systems, Gestalt, and more. She has received trainings in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI).
Didi is a 2020 alumna of the GCSW at the University of Houston where she received her Master’s degree in Social Work. Didi’s experience includes completing an internship at the Montrose Counseling Center working with LGBTQIA+ individuals, families, and couples by providing individual and group therapy services. During this time, she also worked for The Houston Area Women’s Center where she provided individual and group counseling services to survivors of human trafficking, domestic, and sexual violence. It was at these two agencies that Didi developed a passion for working with individuals coping with complex trauma and gender/sexual identity issues from various cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds. Didi developed a passion working for adolescents after her experiences working at a residential setting and as a program coordinator. It was here that she developed a niche passion for working with adolescents with complex traumas. Didi has an interest in learning and being trained in Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Child Centered Play Therapy (CCPT). In her free time, Didi enjoys drawing, going to concerts, traveling to various countries, playing video games, going to restaurants, and spending quiet time with her two cats. |
