Serving clients in Katy & Cypress
My name is Destiny Bourgeois, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate under the supervision of Peta-gay Ledbetter Ph.D., LPC-S. I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Science from The University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Master’s degree in Education in Counseling and Development, from Lamar University. Prior to becoming a mental health clinician, I worked with children and adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
As a mental health clinician, I have experience working with couples, families, adults, adolescents ages 12-17 years old, and early childhood. Furthermore, I have worked with individuals diagnosed with mood, substance use, and related behavioral disorders. I have experience facilitating group and individual sessions that focused on self-awareness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques, Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT), anger management, and mindfulness techniques.
My approach to therapy is eclectic. I strongly believe that it is important for the client and clinician to work together, as a team. Therefore, therapy should be framed to the individual client and not a “one-size-fits-all” mentality. Additionally, I like to incorporate various components of person-center techniques accompanied by CBT, emphasizing DBT, and Solution-Focused Therapy techniques in each session. My top priority is to establish a healthy therapeutic relationship and provide a safe and supportive environment for all clients.
I look forward to meeting with you!
