An (James) Phan is a Licensed Psychological Associate (LPA) working under the supervision of Dr. Rachel Darakhshan, LP., and Dr. Rebecca Heron, LP.
He received his Bachelor of Science at the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in Clinical-Community Psychology at Texas Southern University. James has experience working with individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders. His practicum experience allowed him to work with diverse populations, which included providing behavioral support for children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. James uses a humanistic approach to therapy, with an emphasis on understanding each client’s unique subjective experience and providing a space to help them feel validated and heard without judgment. He uses practical approaches based on the principles of cognitive behavioral therapy, behavior modification, and mindfulness. His goal is to help guide individuals toward a path to discover meaning in their lives through empathetic exploration and support. To navigate through life’s challenges and uncover pathways to living with heightened purpose. At its best, therapy is a transformative journey toward growth, self-discovery, and enhanced well-being. |
